Daegu Art Fair is a 5 day event
being held from 2nd November to the 6th November 2016 at the EXCO in Daegu,
Korea. This event showcases products like wide range products and services such
as art products and services, items for gallery and many more related products
etc. in the Gifts & Handicrafts industry.
The Daegu
Art Fair, held at Daegu EXCO, is an event for both local international artists
to showcase the latest trends in art through their creative and experimental
works. This annual event is organized by the Galleries Association of Daegu and
Daegu Art Fair Operation Committee, and sponsored by Daegu Metropolitan City
and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The fair features works by well-known domestic and international artists, as well as works from promising new artists from around the world, attracting over 2 million visitors. By hosting the fair, it aims to increase the public’s interest in the art in our everyday lives, and cultivate a community among established and up-and-coming artists.

BY RAIL
You can easily access to Daegu by
three kinds of train provided and operated by Korean National Railroad
(Korail).
It takes only 100 minutes to
connect Daegu and Seoul by KTX. Other major cities in the nation are also
easily accessible from daegu by KTX and Saemaeul-Ho and mugunghwa-ho
BY BUS
Express busess to Daegu are
available leaving from the Seoul Gangnam Express Bus Terminal, every 10-15
minutes. In general, it takes 4 hours from Seoul to the Dongdaegu Express Bus
Terminal, Which is located near the Dongdaegu Subway Station.
BY ROAD
Daegy is
easily accessible via 4 major expressways : Gyeongbu Expressway (Seoul –
Busan), Guma Expressway (Daegu – masan/Changwon), Jungang Expressway (Daegu –
Chuncheon), and the 88 Expressway (Daegu – Gwangju)

Walk to the
front gate and get the bus stop near front gate
Before you
get the bus, make sure you have transportation
card, you can buy the transportation card in CU mini market, near from bus
stop.
By Subway :
· Choose Bus number 5 or you can also choose bus
number 818 to go to Anshim Station
it will take 15 minute to go to Anshim.
· The price
around 1.100 won
· When you
are in Anshim, take the train to DongDaegu, the train will take arround 30
minute.
· After
Arrived in Dongdaegu you should transfer and use bus number 2.
· Stop in
EXCO Geonneo.
By Bus
· Choose bus
number 818, it will take 40 minute with 41 stops and stop in DongDaegu Station.
· From
DongDaegu Station change the bus number 937 to Exco. It will take 13 minute.
It’s better
to go by bus because don’t need to change many transportation.

The 9th '2016 Daegu Art Fair'
held in Daegu, the center of culture and art with its long history and
tradition.
The
Daegu Art Fair, which shows the quality of the fine art sample market over the years.
This year, 103 domestic and foreign
galleries from 9 countries participated and 700 people 5,000 works of authors is
exhibited.
A wide range of works ranging from
small items to large works Daegu Art Fair, which we can meet at, is not only
art lovers but also good collector It will be a chance.
With this big event and many
gallery, the visitor can see and can choose many kind of artwork.
In this Daegu Art Fair, we can
see about 700 different works of artists from inside and outside of Korea such
as Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Paris, etc.
Each gallery has their own
different art there is also welcoming desk for the guest who
come to their gallery. They also provide
the brochure and sticker in the desk to give more information about the
artwork.
Daegu Art Fair Also Provide
Guider for the guest to have 15 minute explanation about some art. In order to
help visitors understand the exhibition, a professional commentator will
explain the work and information about the artist.

Evaluation Of The Event
Advantages
ü The event
organizer do the preparation very well, people who love art and want to buy an
art can come to the exhibition during 5 days event.
ü Cheap price
to enter the Event, also there is discount for student and group member.
ü The space of
the gallery in the hall is arranged very well, and we can see all the art
clearly.
ü Various art
and a lot of awesome artwork that I can’t describe in words.
ü Strategic
place that they use to held the even which is EXCO has a good building inside
and outside.
ü There is
many information in every gallery stand that we can get in their welcoming desk
such as brochure and sticker.
Disadvantages
ü The event
did not provide in English
ü The descent
also did not using English when explaining
the art
ü They don’t
considering there is some foreign visitor and didn’t have preparation for the
intreprenter.
ü Also event
schedule, brochure and event information using Korean Language and less
English.
ü Online
website didn’t provide in English, So we got lack information about
the event.

For
me, art is an art that only can
understand by our own self. Even the artist can’t tell you what the meaning of
the art that they made. They let everyone imagine it.
In
art, everyone can have their own imagination and meaning.
The
reason of the artist to make artwork is to express their imagination in to
canvas, and let anyone who like it to adopt their artwork.
Actually
I don’t have a good taste in art, all of us like to see something beautiful,
and my average only the things that look beautiful and artistic. Not more than
that, I even can’t tell the people when they ask what is the special thing in
that art.
But, I
really appreciate the artist that make the imagination became an art, they
don't make a photograph just with a paint. they bring to the act of imagination
to all the reality they have seen, the books they have read, the music they
have heard, the people they have loved.
I see
a lot of wonderful artwork that bring me to think what I never though before.
That art wake me up to see the world more closely.
Every
gallery have their own characteristic in drawing, I really love to see one by
one with all the detail in it.
Everyone
has their own taste in art, my taste is in a cute and colorful artwork.
As you can see, what kind of art that I like is
like the picture before. And from that way collector will have a decision to
collect the artwork.
Because over there, many artwork are for sale and the
collector can buy as much as they want and considering with the price too.
Apart from the art, I also learn how to be a good
Event Organizer that can make a big event successful.
From what I
learn and what I see, they prepared the Event so well, they have VIP Lounge for
important guest to inaugurate the event.
They arrange the gallery position so well and we
can see each art clearly.
The information and ticketing desk have
enough people to take the responsibility. Every gallery also has their own
responsibility to welcoming the guest to their gallery.
I think engage the artist to do the the exhibition
is one of the hard thing that organizing committee should do, that is the first
thing that they should prepare before the event was held.
Because there is more than 100 artist coming to
show and sell their artwork, So I learn that event is already prepared from big Event
Organizer.
As I know, this Daegu Art Fair
was held since 3 years ago, which is always held during Autumn. Autumn moment
could be the best season to see and feel the art.
So for the last, my conclusion
and what I get, what I learn from this event is, the way to appreciate the artist,
the earth, the society, and the good thing in this life by artwork. Learn how
good the management prepared the event so well. Also learn how to make a
business convention in the future.
I hope one day, I can be a part
of big event that I will prepare on it.
